Drug Education With Howick College

This Assignment is based on de Bono's six thinking hats

Task:
Imagine you or your friend has just moved house and started at a new school. You or your friend have made new friends with a buch of students who seem to get into trouble quite often. The new friends are also into the drug scene in big way. They use one of the 6 drugs qutie regularly and at a party one weekend you or your friend try the drug. You or your friend like it and start to use it much more frequently.

Here are the drugs we had to choose from

Marijuana, Alcohol, Tobacco, Ecstasy, LSD, Speed or P
I chose Marijuana

The Six Hats

White Hat:
Some of the effects on my friends well being would be Physical: Relaxed, The shakes, numbing, can't talk, don't exercise some for Social are: can get "boring" can't talk, want to take the drug all the time, may loose some of their friends that don't take the drug. Mental and Emotional: Slows your reations down, increase your mood, may get paraniod, may lose short term memory, lose motivation, upset other people for spiritual I came up with: Paranoid, thinking of things, may have to change their goals, hears strange voices, starts believing in things that arn't true.

Green Hat:
It would be hard to stop your friend taking Marijuana he/she would be druged up and less motivated. he will probably lose his abality to socialise or talk to other people but the way I would get my friend to stop taking drugs would be by trying to talk to him about what he is doing and what could happen to him in the future. Or you could take all the drugs away from him so he can't take them and also he wouldn't have the energy to find them because he would be druged up.

Yellow Hat:
If we helped the people who toke drugs to stop taking them there would be less buglary's or crimes in the neighboor hood. The people who have been taking the drugs could get a lot healthier and active and able to do things for themselves

Black Hat:
The Comutity would be affected by teenages taking Marijuana because they would be stoned and they won't know where they are. There would be more buglary's. They won't get fined if they were caught with marijuana in there body unless they had alcohol mixed or with it.

Red Hat
I think there arn't any positives on taking this drug but there probably are which I don't know about. The Negitives are it will be hard to be a social animal and won't have the ability to talk to his/her girlfriend/boyfriend also if you go to a party and take the drug then you wont remember anything that happend.

Blue Hat:
The outcomes of my friend taking drugs would affect the community and his/her family he/she would have limited abalities to do anything for him/herself. I think that Marijuana should be illegal anywhere at any time and if caught with marijuana in their body should be fined with no questions asked.
